Sujok theories on Ear and Head therapy.
Sujok and Reflexology have tended historically to concentrate on the feet and hands, as you might guess from the illustration above, but the ear and some other areas are also very effective, and each microsystem has its own strengths and weaknesses for particular ailments. The ear is a very useful microsystem, especially for the body viewed as an embryo.
Thus in Sujok the ear can be very good for treating the body Homo system (the shape of the body as an embryo) rather than the more Hetero (the shape of the adult body with extended arms and legs) oriented body picture with five extremities which develops after the embryo stage and is obviously very clear in the structure of hands and feet with their fingers and toes.
So although you can treat the whole body with every microsystem, each has it's own strengths and weaknesses, so choosing how and where to treat is very important in health.
See my other pages on Sujok for more explanation and ideas on this crucial diagnostic information which affects how to treat particular health syndromes.
Do not forget Sujok Nail Therapy either which is an important location for treatment and also can be very versatile and effective.
The internal organs are another strong area for ear treatment for similar reasons. Particularly for treatment of the functional parts of organs (parenchymatous parts) more than perhaps the structural connective parts (stroma). The ear is often the first point of call for treatment of internal organs.
Sujok can treat in detail the most minute parts of the body, even different types of cells in the blood, so Sujok is very versatile and can be very targeted on the problem.
Sujok auricular therapy is very advanced with several books on it by Dr Park Jae Woo. Of course Ear therapy is well known and widely practised especially by acupuncturists, and was widely extended after Dr Paul Nogier did groundbreaking research on it in the mid twentieth century, but Dr Park Jae Woo of Korea as usual had a little different or more comprehensive take on it using a Sujok outlook and research findings.
In the ear book by Dr Park each stage of foetal development is mapped on the ear along the lines of the 6 energy (6 ki) theory, and this can be used for treatment. So far I have not figured out how to diagnose well in that way but if you can do it the effects are very good apparently. No doubt time and further reading will fill in the gaps in knowledge so you and I can use it effectively too.
Once again the theories of Dr Park seem more comprehensive than any other system for ear therapy that I have seen, which mostly just map points rather naively compared to Dr Park's in depth analysis of the development of the body. He maps each stage of the 6 ki development of an embryo on the ear (hotness step, wind step and so on for all the six energies) and finds a way to use this for diagnosis and treatment.
Likewise with head massage and acupuncture, the Sujok version can explain the subject better than other approaches in some respects. The head contains many circular Homo type correspondence systems, including many muscles close to the body surface which are also circular Homo correspondence systems in themselves. There is a book Onnuri Sujok Head Correspondence Systems Therapy to give more detail if needed.
Being Hetero mainly in relation to the rest of the body the head can be very effective and swift in its therapeutic effects. Of course in old and or frail people we have to be careful of stimulating too much, and be careful of using it in cases of severe mental illness also.
So we have to observe the contraindications and be aware of the state of the patient, for example second metacarpal bone treatment is also rather strong and can cause elderly or frail patients to faint.
There are various well known head correspondence area systems, and well known face diagnostic systems too, in both Chinese and Indian medicine. These seem to be single versions of the various Sujok systems which have now been worked out.
The Sujok book "Onnuri Head
Correspondence systems" gives a full rundown of several head micro-systems such as eyes, bones, muscles and lips, and is so much more comprehensive in that respect than other books on head massage and head acupuncture.
We need to keep in mind that lots of correspondence systems are superimposed on one another, so this multi level reality can be a bit confusing in the beginning. Still the more you know the more you can do, so just persevere and do not worry too much if some things are confusing, gradually it becomes clearer.
The resemblance to the body part is important for being effective in treatment. For example the hand is rather similar to the heart and the foot is rather similar in shape to the kidney, and these organs have been mapped onto them, and can be useful microsystems in therapy for those organs. Other parts of the body also have those correspondences but the less similar ones are likely to be less effective than the more similar ones as just mentioned regarding the hand heart similarity and so on.
The nose for example also has its own system of mapping the whole body, as do other parts of the body such as muscles, tongue and metacarpal bones etc, so which microsystem or microsystems are best to use for each problem is a matter of diagnosis and wide study. But you can study enough simply yourself if no good affordable courses are available.
